Francie is the first independent collaboration between Chef-Owner Christopher Cipollone (Piora, Cotogna) and Owner-Operator John Winterman (Bâtard, Daniel). Francie is a destination restaurant on the corner of Broadway & Bedford in Williamsburg, Brooklyn with the convivial feel of a neighborhood brasserie. Located in a limestone-clad former bank building, Francie serves an approachable menu inspired by European flavors and designed for flexibility: snacks, shellfish, and first courses, followed by handmade pasta and main courses. Inspired choices include Lobster Agnolotti and Côte de Boeuf for two with maple hollandaise. The timeless space, designed by architect Glen Coben, is brought together by the open kitchen, a focal point that beckons both neighbors and guests from afar to the warmth of the dining room.
Like our fellow NYC restaurants, Francie has delayed construction and opening due to the COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak. In these difficult times, Francie is offering bespoke experiences and gift cards to help assuage the financial crunch of this delay. They are exploring different avenues of relief but also wanted to reach out to their community of neighbors, family, friends, and supporters by making available advance opportunities to celebrate when we finally get to open our doors. A portion of proceeds will be donated to James Beard Foundation Relief Fund and various GoFundMe accounts in the hope of helping our colleagues deal with this difficult time.
Francie encourages everyone to donate to local food pantries, to support your local favorite restaurants and purveyors, and to continue to treat each other with dignity and kindness. The team looks forward to opening their doors and welcoming you just as soon as possible.
